I am still sad about Benji's death he was one of my best friends and a great actor as well. Many of you may not know, but he played The Elephant Man on Broadway long before he started on ATWT. My thoughts and prayers have been with Ben's family continually. We have missed him terribly on ATWT and now that the word is out that the show is being cancelled, it is even sadder to think that all of these 54 years of a wonderful show will soon be gone. Ben would have been so dissapointed if he were here with us and I know he is watching over all of the cast and wishing each and every one of them his best. His character of "Hal" was truly what the world needs these days...a "nice, respectful, gentleman" who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. My Mom Mildred Ray Shirley/Springer Passed away on April 8,09 @ 7:45 am.
She would have liked Benji. Mom was also in movies. In the backround playing Bass. Old movie's with Doris Day, Joan Crawford and Rita Hayworth. To name a few. Also a Vocalist for the "Ada Lennard and her all Girl Orchestra". George Liberache Sp?
Franks Carle.Glen Miller.Her and Dad both played Bass in the old movie's.
Way before you and your Sisters time. Millie was 87 yrs. young.
So Heaven has two new Bass player's in Heavens' Orchestra.

Their never gone. Their Spirits live on. I'm a firm believer in that.

I think of the times we missed you here and there on the show. I always thought maybe you just needed a vacation. or maybe you we're sick. But I always waited for you to come back.The show was really not a full story line until you came back from your leave.I wondered because you have such a sweet soul. It rang through your being and it showed up quite clearly. In the loving and sometimes very thunderous and passionate way you shared with me and I'm sure anyone that had known you.

My Dad Passed away on Sept 2nd 07. I'm so sad.
He taught me how to wiggle my ears when I was little. I know it sounds silly, my Dad had a good sence of Humor. I caught my self wiggling my ears and started to cry.
I know Daddy and you are happy and at peace now.
It's the one's left behind who have to live with not seeing you or being able to talk on the phone.
Although I talk to my Dad all the time in prayer, but in a way I know Dad's with you. In a much better place.So Bless you Benji. Know that your missed and loved well.

They say time is a great healer, but the pain of losing a loved one never completely leaves us. I only knew Benjamin through his portrayal of Hal Munson, but his warmth, caring and strength of character showed through the fictional person he portrayed.
I admired Benjamin's years of excellent performances in a role that was, at times, emotionally demanding. I miss his voice of reason among the characters who once went crazy around him. God bless all of you in continuing to deal with his loss.

What a tragic, tragic loss, I have watched ATWT since it first came on TV, that means I have watched Hal since he came on, and what a actor, when he was off and those other actors played him it was not the same. He will truly be missed, as he was the greatest actor on the show. May peace be with the remaining family members!
