To the Johnson family, my deepest sympathies. Ben was a close friend who took care of us all. Peace be with you Doc.

Ben was my first medic when I checked into my first command at Underwater Construction Team One in 1996. Ben and Amy were very welcoming and opened their home and hearts to me ... so I could dog sit for them - just kidding. They loved their dalmatians and loved hosting parties. I loved housesitting for them when they went on vacation without their dogs. Instead of living in a jail cell sized barracks room, I could live the dream in their glorious home that included a pool table! Ben would always insist that I join them for any holiday celebration - a `no-brainer´ since Ben had some mad cooking skills. His best quote, "Every good recipe starts with four sticks of butter."
Miss you Ben. Rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Chris Munch

Our condolences. Ben was one of our IDC's when I first got to UCT ONE in 1997. Made us new guys feel welcome. Great corpsman. Very sorry to hear of his passing

Johnson family, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember what a great swimmer Ben was when we were kids. May God give you comfort at this difficult time.

Ben and I were great school friends at St. John´s... or as us Middletown Catholics know it...John XXIII - West Campus. Sometimes, we sneak over to George´s grocery on Central Avenue and buy candy after school, which was not permitted. Especially by patrol crossing guards. That was the last day I was a school crossing guard. Thanks, Ben!
Love ya, brother!
