Benjamin Lindsay, Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 29, 2025.
Benjamin Oliver Lindsay, Jr., 66, of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away on August 28, 2025, at his home. -Ben was also on born on August 28, 1959 in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Ben has always lived in Williamsburg and was in the first graduating class at Bruton High School. He also attended Radford College. A proud native of Williamsburg, he became one of the youngest licensed master plumbers in the area and went on to build a respected career spanning over many years. As the owner and operator of B and L Plumbing and Heating, LLC, Ben earned a reputation for his skill and reliability.

Ben was an excellent athlete growing up. He excelled in baseball and wrestling and enjoyed a round a golf every once in a while.

Ben was best known for his unwavering passion for hunting. An exceptional huntsman with a particular love for duck hunting, he was known by many as the local "Duck Commander." His enthusiasm extended to an impressive Ducks Unlimited collection of waterfowl prints and carvings-treasures that spoke to his reverence for nature and tradition.

Ben's love for the outdoors was matched only by his devotion to his Black Labrador Retrievers-Major, Ranger, Deke, and Otis. He trained each one with care and shared a profound bond with them throughout the years. These loyal companions were more than pets; they were part of his family.

On July 8th, 2025, Ben gave his heart to his Lord Jesus Christ-a decision that brought him peace and fulfillment. He was baptized on August 5th, 2025, marking a deeply meaningful chapter in his life.

He is survived by his mother, Selma S. Lindsay; sister Cindy MacDougall (Dave); nephew Gil Owens Jr. (Regina); nieces Kristen Owens and Tiffany L. Weaver (Shane); nephew Jason Lindsay (Michelle); as well as many great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-nephew.

Ben was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Oliver Lindsay Sr., and brother C. Scott Lindsay.

Though he acknowledged life's regrets-as most do-Ben often expressed how much he enjoyed the life he lived. He followed his passions wholeheartedly and left behind memories that will be cherished by those who knew him.

We will miss you Ben and your infectious smile. He remained so positive during his illness and was so easy to care for.

The family plans on a Celebration of his life in the very near future. Please if you want to make a donation in his honor, please do so to the Heritage Humane Society, 430 Waller Mill Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23185.
