My family and I had an Accounting & Tax Service On Arenas Rd and Zachary and Gary Pitts for landlords, Ben did some landscaping and maintenance around the area and we also did his income taxes. My Mother and I are sad to hear of his passing, we send our condolences to his wife, children, grandchildren and great grands. He lived a little over 89 and half years, which is a good long life, with many great memories having been made and enjoyed. We know that his families friends and faith will see them through this difficult time. We also want to send our additional condolences to them, for the loss of his Brother Eugene , as well and less than a month apart, very sad. Take Care, hopefully staying healthy and safe, with Masks and Six Feet apart.

When I think of Ben, I imagine hearing his voice. He was a dynamic storyteller, holding the attention of his audience, with descriptive accounts of the long ago. Whether he spoke in English or in Spanish, his presence transported the listener to the distant era, where the primary means of communicating was only through vivid verbal accounts. Ben remembered names, dates, times and places, leaving many shaking their heads with only vague recall. Last year, last decade, last century; he remembered so much.
He takes those memories with him. We have not only lost Ben, we have lost a valuable historian of the Reservation (Section 14). There are not too many people left who recall those precious "old days". I feel sad at our loss.
