Benjamin Roman Obituary
Benjamin Alejandro Roman,13, son of Suzanne Roman and brother of William Roman of Newtown died at his home Wednesday, May 1.
Family survivors are grandparents Janice and Paul Roman and aunts, uncles and cousins who will sorely miss him: Melinda Roman and Douglas Clott and Andrew, Allison, Emily and Julia Clott of Newton, Mass; Andrea Roman and Thomas Gloria and Nicholas, Patrick and Isabelle Gloria of Newton, Mass; Sarah Roman and Timothy Rahr and Stephen, Thomas and Owen Rahr of Newtown, David Roman and Julie McEvilly and Daniel, Michael and Natalie Roman of Menlo Park, CA. Relatives of the extended Roman, Ainger and Baldwin families grieve his loss.
Ben was a 7th grade student at Newtown Middle School where he enjoyed art and the orchestra. Ben had many friends and supportive teachers and advisors. He was an exceptionally keen naturalist, exploring the ponds and streams for frogs, salamanders, and newts, clamming and trapping crabs on Cape Cod and fishing in Taunton Lake.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, May 6th from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main St., Newtown. A celebration of Ben's life will take place on Tuesday, May 7th at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be in the Newtown Village Cemetery. It is suggested that contributions in Ben's memory be directed to the Newtown Forest Association, Inc., PO Box 213, Newtown, CT 06470.

My daughter has the privledge of being friends with Will. He is an incredible young man with a loving disposition and a brilliant smile. She knew Ben as well and is very sorry for this tragic loss. There are no words of confolence that seems enough. Your family is in our hearts and prayers.

Dear Sue and family:There are no words as to the sadness we all feel at your loss. I taught Ben for four years at HOM, along with Will. The time that I shared with both the boys will always be with me in my heart. Ben came to art classes with a smile and always a drawing for me. I do not know how this precious boy lost his life, nor do I even know your family. But when I read the news of your dear boy in the paper, I felt such a loss for you. I am so sorry for your sadness right now.
