Ben was always hilarious, and everytime I talked to him, there was a constant smile on my face. I wasn't exactly his bestfriend, but I wasn't just some stranger. I'm going to miss Ben.

Dear Sheila, Ben, & Family,
Words can not express the heaviness in our hearts and the unending sadness we feel at this time. Our family has many fond memories of Ben, and at times it seemed that Eric and Ben were 1nseparable. Not only will Ben's smile always remain clear in our minds but also his love for sports and just having fun with his friends. We all pray that God gives you strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Dearest Sievers Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family of your loss. Ben was such a special gift. I had the fortunate pleasure of spending time with Ben as he stayed overnight with us several times, he would always make me smile. He was kind, polite, and a joy to have over. He will be dearly missed. Strength to you. Losing a child is the worst pain a parent can endure. The Park, Pennington, and Baker Family.

Shelia, Ben and Family,
As soon as we heard Thursday afternoon, we were praying that there was a mistake and this special young man was ok, but as we all know sometimes our prayers are not always answered for reasons we don't always understand why. Ben was such a friendly boy; he would always stop and talk with Dan while he was out doing yard work. I will never forget watching him has he rode his bike or walking down the street. Our hearts go out to you and Ben and your family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. We would like to join you in celebrating the life of these two fine young men,as well as mourning the tragic loss of life that ended way too soon. We hope that the good memories you have will bring some comfort to you in whatever lies ahead. It was obvious by the turnout last night at golden gate that there are plenty of thoughts and prayers with you from people you know as well as people you don't. God Bless you and your families

Dear Ben - Wherever the road you are on now may lead you, always know that you will be in our hearts forever.
Dear Mel, Rob, Kayla, Annie, Noah and family - I know words cannot heal the pain you feel but always know that we are here for you. Ben was such a sweet kid and left us too soon. I found this poem below and wanted to share it with you.
They are not dead,
Who leave us this great heritage of remembering joy.
They still live in our hearts,
In the happiness we knew, in the dreams we shared.
They still breathe,
In the lingering fragrance, windblown, from their favourite flowers.
They still smile in the moonlight’s silver,
And laugh in the sunlight’s sparking gold.
They still speak in the echoes of the words we’ve heard them say again and again.
They still move,
In the rhythm of waving grasses, in the dance of the tossing branches.
They are not dead;
Their memory is warm in our hearts, comfort in our sorrow.
They are not apart from us, but part of us,
For love is eternal,
And those we love shall be with us throughout all eternity - Anonymous

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Sheila, Ben and Family,
I can't tell you how sorry I am about your loss.
Ben is my best friend and I miss him so much.
In time our sadness will be replaced with all the happy memories we shared with him.
I found this poem and it just seemed to fit..
FOR BEN:
If tears could build a stairway
and thoughts a memory lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again
No Farewell words were spoken
No time to say good-bye
You were gone before I knew it
And only God knows why.
My heart's is feeling sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.
But now I know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you'll always stay.
