Benjamin Wooden

On June 28, 2018 Benjamin B. Wooden Jr. entered into eternal rest at Chippenham Hospital. He was born May 17, 1944 to the late Benjamin B. Wooden, Sr. and Virginia Wooden.

He was a former member of Union Baptist Church and attended Second Baptist Church in Richmond, VA.

He was predeceased by his wife, Georgia R. Wooden and brother, Ronnie Lynn Wooden. He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Mario Wooden (Venita) of Chesterfield, VA, Karen Huger (Raymond) of Great Falls, VA and Bridget Wooden of Richmond, VA; grandson, Brandon Carter of Great Falls, VA; two granddaughters, Rayvin Huger of Great Falls, VA and Alyssa Wooden of Chesterfield, VA; one sister Valerie Harrison of Spring Grove, VA; one brother Michael Wooden (Sharon) of Spring Grove, VA; four sister-in- laws, Lillian R. Simpson, Rebecca R. Richardson and Rev. Doris McCray of Petersburg,VA; and Elsie Raines of Maryland, nieces Megan Harrison of Spring Grove,VA, Sharron Wooden of Fairfax,VA, Michelle Raines-Murphy and Deborah M. Ramsey, Esq. (Michael) of Maryland; nephews David Harrison of Petersburg, VA, Wayne McCray (Star), Ronald McCray, Joshua Beasley (Shanta), and Deron McCray of Petersburg, VA, Donald McCray of North Carolina, Earl Raines (Christine) of Disputanta, VA, Norman Raines, Jr. and Larry Raines(Francine) of Prince George,VA, Kim Raines (Sharon) of Norfolk,VA, Gilbert Raines (Sheila) of Texas and Jack Prophet (Vanessa) of New York, aunts Carlene Wooden of Spring Grove, VA and Ophelia Peters of Washington, DC in addition to a host of cousins, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St. Funeral service will be held on Thursday July 5, 2018 at 12 Noon at Union Baptist Church, 5962 Laurel Springs Rd Spring Grove, Virginia 23881. Interment Church Cemetery.
