Playing the accordion with Benno is my best memory. I don't think Benno ever turned down a request to play the accordion, which he did so well. Benno was a true gentleman. I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers & thoughts are with you. Benno will be greatly missed. As Nick Ballarini said "We have lost a dear friend and a prince among men." Sharon Setera(SA)

86 years old! Wow, I'm impressed. Benno was one of the first to join the newly formed Texas Accordion Association in 1986 and we have been friends every since that time. When we had our first "Texas-wide" party in Dallas, TX, Benno was the first to arrive and was the only out-of-town guest. With that first start, Benno encouraged the growth and support that enabled the Dallas-area leaders to become a national and to continue expanding the coverage of the accordion and related conventions. In other words, Benno was an inspiration to everyone. He will be missed!

My condolences to the family. He was always the highlight of the Stapper-Pfeil reunions with his friendly manner and the playing of his accordian. I know he will be very much missed by all. Mary Jane Real Schaefer

Dear Marcy, Robert, Justin & Lorne:

Thank you for the lovely flowers that were delivered to Dad's home at 1 p.m. Saturday. I don't know anything about flowers, but they look like white lillies.

They are very beautiful, but your sentiments on the card were wonderful, too. I especially loved the short verse from Thomas Mann.

I hope you won't mind if I share some of your words here:

I will miss Uncle Booby greatly. We are so sorry for you loss.

"It is Love,
not Reason,
that is stronger than death."
-- Thomas Mann

Thanks for your kindness. My father would have loved your thoughtfulness.
