So I will say Instead, Rest IN Peace our beloved friend chosen family we miss you and look forward in seeing you again.
even though you have gone from our sight, you will never go away from our heart and the memories and love you shared with our family doesn't end with death.

Mr. Benny Golson was a tenor saxophonist and composer whose work helped define the sound of hard bop and whose compositions have since become standards in the world of jazz. He was greatly admired by many fellow artists and all those who knew him. May the love and many, many special memories you shared with your devoted loved one show how much your life was touched by him. May the God of comfort bless your grieving hearts with strength, loving kindness and peace as the world copes with the loss of Mr. Benny Golson. May his music and legacy keep his memory alive forever. Thank you for Mr. Benny Golson's contribution to the jazz industry.

He was an Awesome Teacher of the Bible at Wilshire Hgts Congregation where I attended in the 90s. We could always approach him...very common sense and generous of his heart. True love for his wife and daughter.

I first met Benny Golson around '97 through another legendary trumpet player Dr Donaldson Byrd. I became good friends with his son Bobby and saw him perform a couple more times in Wilmington,DE. R.I.P. my brother!

Mr. Golson was so very talented not just as a musician but a composer as well. Amazing music. His talent will be missed. Prayers for the Golson family, God be with you.

Dear Golson family,
His example as lover of Jehovah was reflected throughout his life. I always appreciated how music was his love but not his lifestyle . It was apart of the full balanced man. Can´t wait to become better acquainted in the New World to come.

As a saxophonist, I have enjoyed listening to you and playing your wonderful compositions for many years. There will never be another Benny Golson. Also, your cousin is married to my cousin which makes us family. R.I.P. to one of music’s greatest icons.
