Bernadette Klepic Richards Obituary
Bernadette was born on August 22, 1935, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Beaver Falls High School in 1953, she began her career as a flight attendant with Eastern Air Lines. It was during this time that she met her future husband, John Richards, a pilot for Delta Airlines.
The couple initially lived in Atlanta and then Miami before settling permanently in Atlanta in 1970. Bernadette lived there for 50+ years before relocating to Sarasota, Florida, to be near her daughter.
An adventurous spirit, Bernadette earned her pilot's license just in case she needed to land the two-seater Christian Eagle stunt plane when she and John flew it across the country.
Known for her vibrant personality, Bernadette was always the life of the party. She had many passions throughout her life, including spending time at her cherished lake house on Lake Burton, skiing in the mountains out west, running the Peachtree Road Race with her children, and golfing at Cherokee Country Club-where she proudly made a hole-in-one. She was also famous for her legendary Mickey Mouse pancakes, a favorite among her grandchildren.
Bernadette is survived by her two children: daughter Lisa Vogt (John) and son John Richards (Dina), as well as five grandchildren: Allie and Jack Vogt, and Sarah, Charlotte, and Liam Richards.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, John Richards.
A Funeral Mass and inurnment will be held on August 9, 2025, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 675 Riverside Rd, Roswell, Georgia, where Bernadette was a devoted parishioner for over 40 years. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.
The family will announce the location of the reception at the conclusion of the Mass. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bernadette's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catholic Relief Fund.

Thank you for live streaming your Bernadette´s funeral. It gave me the chance to share in the service and remember how much fun your Bernadette was. I can´t recall a time when she and I were together that wasn´t full of laughter and camaraderie.
That was just as true when Farrell and I were with John and Bernadette-there was always joy, good humor, and ease. They were wonderful neighbors, cherished friends, with such a gift for making people feel welcome and happy. As Ramona said "she was missed when she moved to Florida. Raising a toast to you Bernadette:)"

Bernadette was such a cutie!!! As members of Southern Seniors with she and John, we had many drinks and good times together! We played lots of golf and were delighted to have them as friends. When she lost vision in one eye, no problem--she didn't lose a bit of vivaciousness -- she was still spirited and full of life and adventure and golf. She and John were so suited to one another. The golf girls always missed her after her move to Florida. Raising a toast to you, Bernadette! :-)

John and Bernadette were always two super nice people within our Delta pilots retiree community. For many years after their retirement, they were seen and enjoyed by many, but especially our Delta Golden Wings members (official pilot retirement organization of Delta). As current secretary and historian, I send this message of sympathy to each survivor of Bernadette as we did upon the passing of John in 2016. May each of you remember Bernadette for all the time you spent with her throughout your individual lives with her and remember that those precious memories will never fade. The love you had for her and the times you spent together will be a treasure remembered all your lives.

Sorry to hear of my cousin´s passing. I wish I got to meet her. She sounds like an amazing person. I always thought it would be neat to get my pilot´s license...... so glad she achieved that goal for herself. May all the good memories of her, help you through this difficult time.
