BERNADINE A. "BERNIE" (KORINSKY)
Peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, May 12, 2014, Bernadine A. "Bernie" (Korinsky) Crummie, age 84, of Ross Township. Daughter of the late Michael Andrew and Helen M. (Shuba) Korinsky; beloved wife of the late Charles T. Crummie; loving mother of Charles B. "Chuck" (Mary) Crummie, Michael (Mary Jane) Crummie, Jeffrey (Sherry DuCarme) Crummie, Patrick A. (Brenda) Crummie, and the late Judith (late James) Meals; sister of Celeste and the late Ronald Korinsky; also grandmother of Jonathan O'Brien, Megan Caporuscio, Colin O'Brien, Devin, Sean, Caitlin, Courtney and Kevin Crummie, Shannon Walters, Sarah Sidell, Michael Crummie, Laura and Amy Crummie-DuCarme, and Alanna Crummie; also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, close family friends, Peter Bianchi, and her "sewing girls." Bernie was a homemaker, a physical education teacher, and basketball coach at Mt. Assisi. She taught sewing at several sewing businesses and CCAC, and worked many years at Arnold's Market in West View. Friends received at the LAWRENCE T. MILLER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 460 Lincoln Ave., Bellevue, on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m. and Thursday, May 15, 2014, from 2 until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Church of the Assumption, Bellevue, on Friday, May 16, 2014, at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions in Bernie's memory may be made to School Sisters of St. Francis-Mt. Assisi, 934 Forest Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15202.

I took a sewing class that Bernie taught about 10 years ago. She was a warm, fun and knowledgeable person who respected those with limited creative abilities. My prayers for peace and comfort to all of her family and friends.
