Guy Charles Reynolds, age 79, died on February 7th, 2022. Guy grew up in Eagleville, CT and spent most of his life in the town of Mansfield, CT before retiring from the State of CT as a Truck Inspector for the Motor Vehicle Department and moving to Florida. In Florida, he earned his degree in Theology and worked as a Chaplain for the Truck Stop Ministries. Guy was a graduate from E.O. Smith High School in 1959. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. After a tour of Germany, he was reassigned to Fort Bragg where he earned his Airborne Wings. In 1965, he was part of the 1st Cavalry Division, the first division of American Troops to land in Vietnam. After Vietnam, Guy started his own Heavy Equipment Company, BBC (Bulldozer, Backhoe, and Construction). A few years later, he joined the CT National Guard, 248th Engineer Company in Willimantic and completed NCO School. He then began training for Ranger school to further his infantry skills. In 1982 at the age of 39, he became the third oldest man to graduate from Army Ranger School and was reassigned to the 1/169 Infantry Combat Support Company in Rockville, CT. In 1997, he graduated from the CT State Police Academy and became a State of CT Motor Vehicle Truck Inspector. Guy served as a Deputy Sheriff for Tolland County, and also a Deputy Chief for the Mansfield Training School Fire Department, as well as a volunteer fireman for the Eagleville and Mansfield Fire Departments. Guy was a spiritual man and a true patriot who embodied a deep sense of service to others and his country. He loved the outdoors and was happiest when operating heavy equipment, motorcycles, or trucks. Guy loved a new adventure and never stopped learning. He had a great sense of humor, a drive to succeed, and an unique perspective on life and living. Guy is survived by his wife Diana, and his children Suzanne Reynolds Schweitzer (David), and Guy S. Reynolds (Rosemary). His sister, Gail Chandler and her sons Craig Chandler, and Sean Chandler, and his four grandchildren, Danielle Emhoff, Alleah Schweitzer, Charles Schweitzer, and Hannah Schweitzer. I first meet Guy was on the top of Colebrook Dam. I was an medic with the HHC 1/169 INF and he was with Co D 1/169 INF working as the safety . We were repelling off the ledge. We talk about my days in the 82nd and his jumping and Ranger School. Years later I change jobs and we met again. This time he was a Truck Hazmat Inspector (CT/DMV) and I was a CT/DMV Inspector working in Wethersfield Lane. Good Talks and Funny times. "Don't Forget Nothing" ( Ranger Creed)

A superb NCO and a great human being. It was an honor to know him and serve with him in the 1-169 Inf.
May he rest in peace.
