WALTON - United States Veteran Bernard F. Judd, 82, passed away Monday morning, Oct. 19, 2009, at home surrounded by his family.
Bernie was born in Gaines, Pa., on Oct. 25, 1926, the son of the late Floyd L. and Avis (Little) Judd.
He was a graduate of the Pratt Institute majoring in leather tanning.
On March 24, 1951, he married the former Jean Jones. She died April 8, 2002.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in Okinawa.
Bernie was a member of the VFW Post of Colonia, N.J., a member of the American Leather Chemists Association, and a faithful member of the Plymouth Community Church.
Bernie will be remembered as a person who worked "behind the scenes," organizing, cleaning, or whatever was needed, at church, Delaware County Fair preparation, or VFW functions, always getting the job done. He also enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family and in his younger years, dancing with his beloved, Jean.

He was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Butler; and sisters-in-law, Mona Judd and Irene Northrup.
Friends and family are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, Oct. 22, 2009, at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at the Plymouth Community Church, County Route 21, Walton-Franklin Road, Walton. A calling hour at the church will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. Interment will follow with full military honors in Walton Cemetery.
