Bernice Petrolia

Bernice Petrolia passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was 91 years old. Mother of Lacie A. Petrolia. Mother-in-law of Judy Miller Petrolia. Grandmother of Jason Michael Petrolia (Deborah) and Daniel Ryan Petrolia (Angela). Great Grandmother of Peyton, Payne, Maria, Anna, Piper, Elizabeth (Ellie), Blaise and Lucy Petrolia. Sister of Joseph Petrolia, Jr. and the late Lena, Stella, Anthony H., Josephine, and Roy J. Petrolia, Virginia Angelo, and Pauline Wong. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed being with friends and family, always being on the go, working word puzzles, and watching old TV programs. She loved her bingo games at Landmark Nursing and Rehab Center in Hammond where all of her winnings were given to her eight great grandchildren. She was a hardworking dedicated employee who never missed a day in 40 years. She always stuck to her commitments and finished what she started. She was easy going and most of the time non-argumentative, very independent, and didn't impose on anyone. She loved her family, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she was very proud of their accomplishment. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal Street on Monday, January 12, 2015 from 10:30 AM until 12:15 PM followed by a Funeral Mass. Interment in Cypress Grove. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her name. She loved her flowers but children more.
