ROBERTS _ (Dietrich) Bernice The family of Bernice Mary Ann Theresa Roberts sadly announce her passing on May 13, 2003 at her home in Forest Lawn. Born March 14, 1925 in Heisler, Alberta, she was the eldest child of Leo and Theresa Dietrich and spent most of her childhood in Strome. Following her marriage in 1950, she and Walter moved to Calgary to take care of his mother and she remained in the same place until her passing. During this time, she also took care of her mother until her passing. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Bernice lived for her family and friends and was renowned by all for both her hospitality and cooking. Her wry sense of humour and unending love will be missed by all whose lives she touched. She was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband of forty-two years Walter and her son Kim, as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory her son Wayne (Heather) of Strathmore; her daughter Beverley (Mark) Duncan of Calgary; daughter-in-law Kelly (Dan) Armstrong of Claresholm; grandchildren, Diana, Meahgan, Lindsey, Kristin, Kaylin, Kyle, Kasey, Bridgette and Demi; and great-grandchildren, Destiny, Tristen, Ayden and Faeriel; brother Harvey (Margaret) Dietrich of Osoyoos BC; sisters, Dorothy (Ray) Poissant and Marlene (Ed) Rombough, all of Kamloops, BC; sister Doreen Anderson of Lacombe; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Matson and Mary LeClair both of Hanna; and many, many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the Community Palliative Care team and the Home Care staff for their many kindnesses and for enabling her to stay in her home until the end, the place she most wanted to be. A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (1525 - 45 Street S.E.), Saturday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. WHEATLAND FUNERAL HOME LTD. (Strathmore) in care of arrangements.
