Bernice Merrell Williamson

Bernice Merrell Crosby Williamson, 88, of Goose Creek, SC, wife of Daniel B. Williamson went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held , Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel. Mrs. Williamson was born May 16, 1924 in Savannah, GA the daughter of the late Edward Benjamin Crosby and the late Ethel Caldwell Crosby. She spent most of her childhood years in Walterboro and moved to Charleston in 1939. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Mrs. Williamson was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter in North Charleston. She enjoyed and loved her family, wonderful neighbors and her circle of friends. She especially loved her Goose Creek Baptist Church in Goose Creek, SC. She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Marjorie C. Scheloske and Lois C. Brinson; and her brother, Millard Crosby. She is survived by her husband of 66 years; daughters, Diane W. Bennett and her husband Nelson of St. Stephen, SC, Brenda W. Nix and her husband Henry (Nicky) of Moncks Corner, SC and Debra W. Dear and her husband Willis of Ladson, SC; and her son, Rodney D. Williamson and his wife Pam, of Middleburg, FL; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Thomas E. Crosby and his wife Bernice of North Charleston; and many nieces and nephews.
