BERT
Suddenly on Sunday, October 11, 2015, Bert Mertz, age 80, of Lincoln Place. Son of the late John and Bertha Dibbler Mertz; beloved husband of Barbara Jordan Mertz; loving father of Debra (Bud) Woodhouse, Diane (John) Fenk, Donna (Robert) Ptaszkiewicz, Brian (Kim) Mertz and the late Bert (surviving Antoinette) Mertz. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother of John (the late Ann) Mertz, Paul (Alice) Mertz, Richard (Janet) Mertz and the late Bob (surviving Okja) Mertz, Edna Collins, Dorothy Collins and Kenny Mertz. Friends will be received Wednesday 2-8 p.m. at STATHERS FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1222 Muldowney Avenue, Lincoln Place, (412) 464-4377, where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Military Honors.

Belatedly, please accept our deepest sympathies on the death of Bert. We have known Bert for well over 50 years from his days at the the butcher shop on 8th Avenue to his attending the many Christmas Parties with Branch 089 of the William Penn Association. He will be missed at the party this year.
