Bertha Dufrene Danos

Bertha Dufrene Danos passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025 at the age of 89. Devoted wife to the late, Earl A. Danos Sr. for 65 years before his passing in 2020. Bertha was born in Gheens, LA to the late Elvin A. Dufrene and Thelma R. Dufrene. Sister to the late Sergin A. Dufrene and Nelva Dufrene Fayette. Bertha was a resident of Bridge City for the past 70 years, where she raised her 6 children. Loving mother to Becky (Maria), Clifton Sr. (Precious), Mark (Judy), Cheryl (Mike), Earl Jr. (late Wendy), and Tammy (Jeff). Cherished grandmother to Clifton Jr., Danielle, Jessica, Kyle, Earl III, Cody, Samantha, Chancelor, Lexie, Carson, Myah, and Bianca. Beloved great grandmother to Devon, Payton, Aleeya, Alyssa, Haisley, and River. She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Bertha was an avid a sports fan and loved to watch football. She especially liked to cheer on the Saints and LSU. Bertha was a devoted Catholic with strong unwavering faith. She was an active parishioner at Holy Guardian Angels Church in Bridge City. Bertha was such a selfless and giving person, she even donated her body to LSU School of Medicine and Science. She was the back bone of her family and will be deeply missed. Her family would like to thank the staff at Heart of Hospice and Lisa Taylor for all the care they gave Bertha over the years.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 146 4th St. Westwego, LA on Friday September 5, at 10am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 until the mass time. In lieu of flowers please have masses said in her honor or make a donation to the American Heart Association.
