BERTHA V. KANE ‘AUNT BERT’, 88 Bertha V. Kane “Aunt Bert”, 88, of New Gretna, NJ, and formerly of Phoenixville, PA, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, November 1, 2015. She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Kane. Born in Phoenixville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Barbara (Fazekas) Philipanics. She worked nearly 30 years as a nurse’s aide at Phoenixville Hospital until she retired and moved to NJ where she lived with her son, Thomas and his family for 18 years. She loved all sports, especially Philadelphia teams, watching games on TV well into the late night hours. Bertha was loved by all and affectionately known as “Butchie” by her family in NJ. She was a beautiful example of a biblical servant, always ready to help anyone in need. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, but will see her again in heaven. She is survived by her son, Thomas C. and wife Maureen Kane; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Kane Readman and husband Vernon Readman; grandchildren, Amanda, Lauren, Michael, JR and Jessica; 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Edward J. Kane. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA, on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA. Relatives and Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. Condolences may be given to the family at www.GatchaFuneral.com.
