Beryl Anne DeLaune Gordy, a resident of Zachary and native of Thibodaux, died on Monday, Sept. 6, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 6-month battle with cancer that she fought with grace and humor and her beautiful smile. She was 80 years old and was a former employee of Georgia Pacific for 15 years. Visitation was at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Visitation continued on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church from 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am conducted by Fr. M. Jeffery Bayhi. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Phillip Ray Gordy, 3 daughters, Jean Woodside and husband Ed, Jennifer Kleinpeter and husband, Martin, and Jami Webb and husband, Jay, 2 sons, Sean McDaniel and wife, Stephanie and Phil Gordy and wife, Donna, 2 brothers, Mark DeLaune and wife, Cheri and David DeLaune and wife, JoAnn, 12 grandchildren, Shannon Woodside, Lindsey Woodside Jarreau, Rebecca Kleinpeter Finneman, Craig Kleinpeter, Mackenzie McDaniel, Connor McDaniel, Tyler Gordy Koch, Phillip Gordy, Blair Gordy Piras, Donna Katherine Gordy, Graham Webb and Shade Webb. Also included in those she considered her precious grandchildren are Chad Jarreau, Ashley DeLaune, Byron DeLaune, Luke DeLaune, David DeLaune, Jr., John DeLaune, and Francesca Shreve, 7 great-grandchildren, Braden Clark, Sa'Lynn Woodside, Tela Woodside, Peyton Jarreau, Grace Jarreau, Raegan Jarreau, Levi Jarreau, Isabel Koch, Noah Koch, Cannon Koch, and Auguste Piras. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gleason St. Clair and Beryl Dugas DeLaune. Pallbearers were Craig Kleinpeter, Peyton Jarreau, Connor McDaniel, Braden Clark, Graham Webb, and Chad Jarreau. Beryl was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, a board member for Zachary Food Pantry and a volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul, Zachary Chapter. Beryl was also a longtime member of Société d'Etude Book Club and her beloved Bridge Club. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Castine, Dr. William Russell, Dr. Pavani Ellipeddei and their entire staff for their amazing compassion and care given to our Mom. Our prayers are lifted up for all at the passing of Beryl. A sweet and kind Lady with a radiant smile. Beryl gave of her time to volunteer at the Zachary Food Pantry and to serve on it's Board. May the peace of Christ be with you all as you grieve. God Bless, Vince and Rhenda
