Where to begin! We were only neighbours for three years (1950-1953) but, OH! what an impact your Mom had in my life. She was a real star! I am still using her icing recipe at age 69. I destroyed her prized new mint green wall-to-wall carpets when she tried to get me to like peanut and jelly sandwiches....jelly doesn't work on mint green! But she hugged hell out of me just the same. Cheryl, or "Shrill" as my Dad called you.....and you shouted across the street, "my name is Cheryl, Edith, Heather, Hayes, NOT "Shrill". Memories have remained in my mind and in my heart for over 60 years of your most special Mom, and Dad. I don't remember many things BUT I always remember my first years in Montreal from South Africa and the love and caring your Mom gave me.
Rod and Cheryl, your Mom was the utmost "classic-forever" Mom. It is now 1953 in my head and heart.

We lived across the street from you in Hampstead. Your Mom was a terrific neighbour and a very fine lady. To Rod and Cheryl, my condolences and sympathy.
