Bettina Focht Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 13, 2025.

Bettina Anne "Tina" Focht (née Deery) passed away with her family at her side on Monday, April 7, 2025. She was in hospice care at home, quietly ending her long, fierce battle with cancer. She fought hard for many months through endless obstacles and against unrelenting pain without complaint. She just worried about inconveniencing her loved ones and lamented at not being able to do what she loved to do - taking care of her loved ones.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, on May 26, 1962, to the late Bettina ("Betty") A. (née Catena) and Robert L. Deery, Sr., Tina attended Conrad High School, graduating from WHS. She studied at the University of Delaware and graduated from the University of Phoenix.

Tina worked at Wawa in Brodheadsville, PA for several years. Through this job and through other customer care roles through the years, Tina really did care for her customers and co-workers bringing fun and laughter to each day. She was generous with her time and support, being the most loyal friend, wife, mom and sister that any of us have ever known. Her Wawa family meant so much to her, especially during her illness - checking in often and visiting to bring her favorite foods and lots of laughter and compassion. They are truly a wonderful, one-of-a-kind group. She had a tough exterior, but was incredibly loving and kind, thinking always of others before herself. She was so smart and funny - she could figure out a fix to any problem, making us laugh til we cried along the way. Teeny will be especially missed by her devoted sister and partner in crime through the years, Teresa (Teecy).

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband William B. Focht, with whom she recently celebrated 30 years of marriage, her devoted sons William "Will" B. Focht Jr. and Nikoli "Nik" Focht all of Kunkletown, PA and her loving daughter Bettina Louise Focht of Stroudsburg, PA. She was incredibly proud of her children and loved each of them beyond words. She is also survived by stepdaughters Jennifer Sheldon (Phil) of Kentucky, and Melissa Focht of Orwigsburg, PA.

She was the loving grandmother to Weston Focht (who lit up her life!) and step grand to Logan , Ayden and Lium Sheldon and Teagan Brown. She will be missed by Thunder & Lightning, her German Shepard boys and her grand-cat Loki.

Tina is survived by her siblings Teresa A. (Deery) Miller (Andy) of Glen Berne Estates, DE; Steven Deery of Newark, DE; William Deery (Diane) of Marshallton & Fenwick Island, DE; Lawrence Deery of Lewes, DE. Tina is also survived by dozens of Deery nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and dozens of Deery, Catena and Fabbiuci cousins.

She was preceded in death by brothers Robert L. Deery Jr. and Philip E. Deery.

If you are able to attend Tina's service, you know she was a "come as you are" kind of girl. She wasn't a fan of rules and dress codes. If you are not able to make the trip, think of her and laugh with her; and she will feel it where she is and love you for it. Just don't call her "Gladys." Family and friends are welcome at Gower Funeral Home Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10 am with services at 11 am 1426 Route 209, Gilbert, PA.
