Betty Bousquet Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 8, 2025.
Catherine Mae Bousquet, lovingly known as "Betty," passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Davis Place in Danielson, Connecticut. She was surrounded by her devoted husband, Prescott Bousquet, goddaughter Catherine "Kitty" Baker, and members of her loving family.

Born on November 14, 1934, Betty was the daughter of the late William and Mae (Werle) Jodoin. She was predeceased by her cherished daughter, Brenda Star Blackburn; her brothers, William Jodoin, Earl Jodoin, and Nelson Jodoin; and her sisters, Dot Lachapelle, Arline McKenna, Flossie Cummings, and Shirley Batton.

Betty is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-five years, Prescott Bousquet; her sisters-in-law Joyce Brown, Kathy Beauregard, and Judy Cote; as well as three generations of nieces and nephews who adored her. She was also a treasured friend to many who were fortunate to know her.

Betty's life was marked by a remarkable work ethic and an adventurous spirit. She retired at the age of 87 after a dedicated career that included roles at Kaman Aerospace, Revere Textile, and the Salvation Army. Her zest for life extended beyond work-she embraced adventure wholeheartedly and even drove her own motorcycle to ride alongside Prescott and their daughter Brenda as a family. Betty's love for life was matched only by the unconditional love she shared with her husband, daughter, extended family, and friends.

Known by all for her passion for sweets, Betty also had a passion for shopping that brought joy to those around her. Her thoughtful gifts created countless memories and left behind a legacy of generosity that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Saint John the Apostle Church located at 10 Railroad Avenue in Plainfield. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Plainfield VFW at 7 Winsor Avenue in Plainfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Day Kimball Healthcare: Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut, 32 Main Street, Putnam, CT 06260-1906.

Betty's memory will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.

Prescott
And family I´m so sorry for your loss. I remember Betty when I came came to live with Douglas and my sister Pat at the age of 13. She welcomed me with open arms, always made me laugh. All the family functions were so much fun with her. She will be missed very much.

Prescott, family & friends of Betty,
So sorry to hear of Betty's passing. She lived a good life. When I think of Betty (and Brenda), it reminds me of the good ole days working at Kaman Aerospace and the variety of trips we shared as employees of Kaman via "Kaman Club". When I think of Betty, she always brings a smile to my face. Hugs to all during this time of loss. In sympathy, Pat (Desjardins) & Arvid Palonen

My sincere condolences to Betty´s family and friends. She was always such a kind lady to me when I would see her working at the Salvation Army or if I would see her and Brenda together.
She would always greet everyone with a smile and a warm, hello and very often a hug. I am sure that Brenda's open arms were waiting for her mom.

Oh Aunt Betty will I miss you! You were always so fun and mischievous, always had a sparkle in your eye, always made me laugh, always made me feel so loved. I am so happy I got the chance to see you on all my trips home these last couple years - and to give you a kiss and tell you I loved you when I saw you this past November. As the new kid to the family back when Dad met my mom, you accepted me with open arms - thank you for that, and for being you, and for taking good care of my favorite uncle in the whole wide world. I love you!
