This poem was printed in your service folder to All:
Come With Me
God saw she was getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So He put his arms around her
and whispered,"Come with Me."
With tearful hearts
we watched her fade away.
Although we loved her dearly,
we could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands laid to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the Best.

Mom, I miss you very much. I look over my shoulder hoping to see you but I know that you are in a better place. Thank you for being an important part of my life and for everything you've taught me. I'm trying to follow in your footsteps while I cook and bake and I hope to be as good as you are. I remember when you would come by my office to drop off goodies for me and I enjoyed the goodies you brought for me. You are a caring, loving and generous person that any child could have. When I needed something you didn't hesitate to help me and I am grateful for that. I am proud to have you in my life and to be my mother. I love you and one day we will be together again.

Aunty Betty, I hear your car pull up in my driveway. You say greetings to my dogs and they quiet, a little. Then you proceed to the backyard, open the gate and pick the ripe lemons. You know it's okay, even if I'm home resting. Next day I find a dish of something ono in the garage. I know it's from you and I'm grateful.

Dear Aunty, you are going to be deeply missed. I had not seen in you in many years but still have memories of family gatherings at your beautiful beach home. You and Uncle Harry were always so welcoming and never yelled at us if we forgot to wash off and dragged sand into the house! I can understand why daddy enjoyed trying to visit his siblings whenever he could. Our condolences to your family for you will be deeply missed but I am sure they will have fond and beautiful memories of your times together. Peace and love to you Aunty! Dear cousins, my heartfelt aloha to all of you and Uncle Harry during such a sad time.

I first met Mrs. Chang through her daughter Serena. I was active duty military and Mrs. Chang showed such love and kindness towards me as if I was one of her sons. I will always remember our picnic at Fort Derussy with Serena, Mel, Vern, Keisha and Dayton, Korean foods, good times, and she sure know how to bake some island goodies. Real Ohana I learned from Mrs. Chang. I will miss her deeply her laughs were always so real and uplifting.Gone with God and a bright star in heaven.
Respect and condolences to the Chang family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Betty several years ago when she visited me in Pennsylvania with my daughter-in-law Serena and granddaughter Keisha. We had a wonderful visit and she truly was one person I immediately gravitated to and loved. She will be greatly missed.

Your daughter and I became best friends, way back in 1976
Every weekend spent at your house “surfing the waves” and hanging out …
oh, how I miss that house.
You tried to teach me how to grow herbs and flowers, and even gave me starter plants
but, it was easier to pluck from your garden then keep asking for another starter plant since 1976.
Through the years you tried to teach me…
How to bake your famous cookies and gave me tips on how to cook
But, reality was, it was easier to bake for me than teach me since 1976.
Holidays you filled me up with yummy lemon bars, pear cookies, and oh those delicious meals.
So, every time you baked or cooked you had baggies or jars filled to the rim waiting for me.
With every bit I took, I said you are the best cook ever, since 1976
Those times when Mr. Chang would sit Serena and I down and ask “what are you going to do with your life”? We would look at each other and say “enjoy high school”?
Then, the 1 hour talk would start and we would look for you to rescue us way back in 1976.
Through the years, you filled me up with laugher, you filled me up with happy memories and most of all you filled me up with love and kindness since 1976.

Betty was a special friend to all the MidWeek gang, always bringing in her wonderful homemade goodies. Aunty Betty was always a caring person, concerned about everyone's well-being, offering "cures" right and left. I will miss her forever.

Mama Chang..You were a dear and special person to me and I thank you for being like a Mom to me. I will always remember your kindness, your generosity and your warm smile. I will truly miss you and will forever remember the wonderful memories as well as the fun times we shared together. You were an awesome cook and baker. Thank you for sharing your cooking tips and receipes with me. You taught me how to make the most delicious cookies ever. My Kailua Ohana says thank you for teaching them how to make kim chee, takuwan and pickle mangoes. Also, thank you for teaching me how to make leis while you were visiting Avery and me in Maui. It was fun picking flowers, making the leis, talking story and watching Korean dramas. Mama may you rest in peace always. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I love you and farewell till we meet again.

Hey Grandma... Gosh do I miss you so much... But I wanted to let you know that you are the person who taught me to be the nicest person I can be, even when things around me weren't the best. You are the most giving person I have ever known, and I thank God everyday that I got the chance to know you and be close to you. You're the example of a person who is beautiful inside and out, and I'm so proud to have you as my grandma. You're the best cook too, hands down haha and when me and mom taught you how to text made you 10x more adorable haha. I miss the touch of your skin, your smell, and especially you being there in person... But I know that God had a plan for you. I know that you are in a better and more peaceful place, watching over all of us as we live our lives day to day. You are like a mother to me and I couldn't be more grateful to have grown up with you by my side. Now its my time to make you proud and I will do that... You are my inspiration and I love you <3.
