Jim and John,

I left for Paris mid April and did not return until mid May. I just sent yur mother an email asking if she was OK as I had not heard from her since my return.

Today I checked the obituaries and I know why.

We have never met, but your mother and I were good friends for many years. She visited us in NC and we went to France together some years back. We had many good times together. I will miss her.

It was good to see family and friends gathered together on Saturday in memory of Betty Lou and not surprising that so many attended as Betty Lou was a very special person. Betty Lou expressed a sincere interest in each and everyone and will be missed. I am happy to have known her and will remember her fondly.

Jim and John,

Betty Lou was a wonderful lady. She was so patient and kind with your friends. I remember a Thanksgiving at her house when I was stuck far from family.

I have fond memories of her and Roger. I will miss them, and I miss seeing you both more often.

I will keep your family in my prayers.

In Christ,

Chuck

Dear Jim and John,

Your mother and I were friends many years ago in YPO and saw each other in NC during some summers. In fact, Debbie's mother Tillie and I were YPO friends as well.

Betty Lou was truly a gracious Southern lady. It was a pleasure knowing her. Treasure your happy memories.

With deepest sympathy,

John and Jim, I feel it an honor to come and say a final goodbye. After initally meeting your Mom, I realize that God uses good people to do great things. Your Mom was an amazing person, caring for others, never putting herself before anyone. She would go out of her way to reach those in need, I knew I could come to her no matter what the circumstance, I loved her with all my heart and will truly miss her. She was not afraid of dying, she knew it was the stake one puts up in order to play the game of life. It's a debt we all must pay, and is balanced on the edge of a razor. The day we fear as our last is but the birthday of eternity. God made death so we'd know when to stop. Know that the pain is gone and she is being cared for. I can hear her now...My work is done, why wait? It's beautiful on the other side!. My condolences to both of you.

John and Jim, the passing of your mother is a difficult experience, I'm so sorry to hear this. She was one of the most amazing people I have ever met and will probably ever meet. She spent her life caring for others, never placing herself before others. She would go out of her way to reach those in need, and was there for you when the time called for it. She always had an open door policy, I felt comfortable going to her no matter what the reason, she would listen with her heart, she was a mother to me as well. I loved her and will truly miss Betty Lou. Know that she is in a better place as God has plans for her, the day we fear as our last is but the birthday of eternity. God made death so we'd know when to stop. Betty was not afraid of dying, she knew it was the stake one puts up in order to play the game of life, a debt we all must pay. Life and death are balanced on the edge of a razor. Be happy you had many glorious years together, it's only a while that you must be apart. Her work was done, why wait? It's beautiful on the other side. My deepest condolences to the two of you.

Jim & John
It's so hard to lose your mother-she gave you life as well as devoted her life to you. I hope you can take comfort in that she is in a better place now, out of suffering. It sounds like she had a very full life, and that's what you should think about now! It's been 8 months since my mom passed, and not a day goes by that I don't miss her, but I can now think of the wonderful times had during her life. You and your family are in my prayers.
