Betty Goldstein Obituary

Published by Lancaster Eagle-Gazette on May 4, 2017.
Betty Ann (Nugen) Goldstein

LANCASTER: Betty Ann (Nugen) Goldstein of Lancaster, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Thursday April 27, 2017. She was born February 2, 1930 in Bluefield, West Virginia. Betty was a longtime member of the Church of God in Newark, Ohio. She worked at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and the Franklin County Human Services Department. She was kind hearted and devoted her life to helping others. Family connections were very important to her and family debates could be quite lively-almost poetic. She was a member of the Pleasantville Garden Club. She spent many years on her farm in Bremen tending to her flowers and vegetables. Betty loved spending time with her pets and farm animals. Survivors include her sons, Craig Nugen (Renee Hamilton), and Brent Nugen (Belinda Bigham); grandchildren, Zachary and Amanda Nugen; and many other friends and relatives. Betty is preceded in death by her father Ovid Riggle Mooney, her mother Eliza Lake Hiles, and her beloved stepfather Harley E. Hiles, her friend and former husband Fred Goldstein, aunts Icie Miller and Fay Lusk, sister Gertrude Raver, brothers Thomas and David Mooney, and special friend Marvin Fisher. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) are welcome and can be made online at www.jdrf.org. Betty will be buried alongside her mother and stepfather at the Grandview Cemetery, Bremen, Ohio. Private arrangements entrusted to DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long St. To express condolences to Betty's family, please visit www.diehl-whittaker.com/obits

Craig and Brent. Saddened to hear of the passing of your Mom. She was very kind to me (always made me feel welcome) and my bother Mike when we all played together as young children. Those are some wonderful memories and she was very central to those times. ~Thoughts and prayers for both of you.
