HARVEY, Betty J. Durand Age 92, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Durand Senior Care in Durand. Funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 101 South Ann Street, Byron, MI 48410, Reverend Nate Jeffords officiating. Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia, MI. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. Visitation 2-6pm Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Betty will be at the church 12pm Tuesday April 7, 2015 until the time of the service. Betty was born in Kokomo, Indiana on December 28, 1922, the daughter of the late Clarence L. Eads Sr. and Mary E. Prather, and was a resident of the Livingston County area since 1985. On September 27, 1941, she married William Charles Harvey and he preceded in death on May 23, 1993. Betty graduated from Western High School in Detroit. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Byron. During World War II she mited tank parts. Betty was a Credit Investigator for Manufacturers Bank in Detroit from 1963 to 1970. Before that she was employed at Hudsons in Northland and a homemaker. She loved to make Hooke Rugs and enjoyed knitting. Surviving are daughter Dawn and husband Sherwin Kittle of Howell; grandson, Robert (Nicole) Kittle of Perry; granddaughter, Mary E. (Sean) Francis of Fairibult, MN; 3 great-grandchildren, Shane Harvey, Annabelle Marie and Samantha Rose; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Clarence L. Eads, Jr. and George S. Eads. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com
