John and family, I send my sympathy during your time of grief. I will always remember Betty as a loving, compassionate and religious person. After 30 years, I still wear a St. Theresa medal that Betty gave to me during some stressful times.
Betty was always there for her family and friends. From a selfish point of view, I wish that she could have stayed with us longer. May God bless the Hoerr family. Leo Romeo

Eric and Natalie I am so sorry of the passing of your mom. I remember your mom from the neighborhood and also from Elmwood when she would volunteer for our class and the fairs they had at Elmwood she would dress up like a gypsy.. Your mom will be missed by many. Sending thoughts and prayer to your family... Hugs to all of you!!!

A few stories to share - Betty Stabile Hoerr & Frances Mangano Burkhead - we went to school together and graduated from Kenwood High in 1957. We reconnected when our boys started school together, Eric and Johnny. We were room moms together and planned many activities and functions for the class. She would dress as a gypsy and read tarot cards to the kids and tell them their fortunes. (The parents and teachers would soon get in on that). She also read tarot cards at her home. She would give shiny bracelets that she purchased from the flea market. She said to rub them if you feel anxious, scared, etc and they would soothe you. (I still carry mine today after 40 years) We enjoyed doing things outside of the classroom as well, like bingo, shopping, coffee time, and she also taught belly dancing classes. Betty got her driving license in her later years and scared all of us to death. She would drive very slow and was afraid of bridges. She was a great friend and also became a professional counselor to my daughter and I in our time of need. She would chase her family out of the kitchen so that we could talk. She helped my daughter make life changing decisions. I loved Betty but also liked her, even though I could never talk her into going to a high school reunion. Unfortunately we lost touch when she moved to Pennsylvania. So many fond memories. She will be missed.

To my friend, John Jr. and his family; your mother's love is everlasting. Death can never take a mother away, for in the hearts of the people she inspired, the legacy remains and continuous throughout generations.
In this time of grief, remember you have friends who wish to comfort you the most.
