My Dear Betty. I miss your wisdom, your caring sweet soul. We met at the the support group, when we lost of husbands, our bond. I so enjoyed our lunches and dinners over the years. Loved being welcomed
to your home and the peace when I entered. Always inviting me to spend the night or take a rest when I was in the Palo Alto area. Being a gardener, so appreciated the calmness of your maples. I have many planted in my garden and think of you often when I enjoy their swaying in the gentle breeze. I think of your gentleness, especially today, on your birthday. My thoughts to Andrew and James.

Betty Lin was my mother Katie's closest and dearest friend. Over the decades, they chatted on the phone regularly. Betty was a tremendously kind, loyal, and caring person, and her friendship was a great gift to my mother. Betty will be deeply missed. Andrew and James, our love and thoughts are with you.

My dear friend Betty - whom i was able to visit every other week until COVID; I miss you. I always called before I visited and was hoping to visit the morning you passed. Andrew answered your phone, not you, and I was heartbroken. I loved that you called me Sweetheart and your best friend; one of the perks of aging gracefully with Alzheimers. You always tried to feed me and I so enjoyed our tea time together. I enjoyed talking about your lovely sons. I miss praying with you. You are near and dear to my heart. Love, Marilee Clauson

Betty Lin was an extraordinary person, full of love, kindness, compassion, and beautiful devotion and love of Jesus. I was fortunate to have known her and loved her for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her beloved Po-Ping, James and Andrew. Gifted as a psychotherapist, she helped many, many people over the years. Her love, laughter, and generosity of spirit will live with me forever. James and Andrew, I send you love at this sad time of loss and grief. With much love, Shelley Barlas Nagel

Betty had a remarkable influence on my walk with Jesus. She helped me to understand Jesus as healer. Gently she guided me into his loving arms to take a huge step in my spiritual growth as I was able to see the brokenness in me that needed to be restored by our heavenly Father God's healing hand. Lovingly she also helped me to see the brokenness in his church that required restoration as well. Together we took a journey alongside one another as sisters in Christ, first for healing, and then ultimately for friendship that became one of encouragement and edification. Faithful friend and healer, I will miss our earthly connection. I look forward to the day when we meet again in eternity, where there will be no more pain and suffering and your bride will be radiant in its purity and love.

"We are about to lose a treasure-full of heavenly wisdom on this earth. She is the one who gave me the scripture Isaiah 30:15: For this is what the LORD GOD, the Holy One of Israel, says: In repentance and rest you will be saved; in staying calm and trusting will be your strength. But you refused.

Lord Jesus, grant Betty Lin peace right now and an easy passage as she comes to meet you.

Eloise"

Thank you all for letting me know. She was a very positive and remains a very positive presence in my life. She called me out many years ago and told me I could no longer be a little mouse scurrying along the base boards. We had some wonderful years together.

Jesus will be waiting for her.

"I only went to Betty a few times--years before her dementia and then later. But I thought she had a unique gift to cut through the BS and heal people--including me. I walked into her living room with a burden I had carried from childhood and walked out a free woman. I was very grateful to her then and still am. God uniquely gifted her with insight, intelligence, and compassion.

I also remember how she told me that she went outside one morning--and someone had stolen her Japanese Maple out of the front yard--which apparently has some value on the open market. Who would have thought to steal a tree?!
Betty Lin left a powerful healing legacy in this world."

[shared with the Lin Family] -- " Betty Lin is much beloved and it is good she is finally transitioning to the well-deserved rest from her body's travails. She was one of those whose faith was "worthy of imitation" - she modeled herself after her savior and served faithfully in His name and we were the recipients of that blessing. In the few short sessions I had with her, she showed me how to gracefully live in the tension of difficult relationships, how to honor God without compromising my beliefs nor condemning other's.
Father, I join Mary in asking that Betty's transition be peaceful and joy filled!
Love and blessings,
Ethel
