I never had the pleasure of meeting Betty Jo in person and yet through her research of our family she managed to bring all of us together. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and loved ones.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of Aunt Betty over the years and just wish I was closer to have seen her and all of you more the last several years.

Betty Jo was my cousin and although we never met we spent years exchanging letters and cards at Christmastime. I will always appreciate the tireless effort she put into building our family history for all of us to enjoy. She was a delight and i will remember always. i am the daughter of George, Berta's baby bother who left VA and moved to NY state when he was quite young.
My condolences to Bettty's family.
Please post a photo or two--- thanks.
I wil miss her card and letter this season.

I know Betty jo liked this verse--- and so I extend it to her family during this bittersweet holiday season. Betty Jo was such a deeply spiritual woman-- I can only believe she is in a far better place.
I salute you.
There is nothing I can give you
which you have not.
But there is much that,
while I cannot give you,
you can take.
No heaven can come to us
unless our hearts find rest in it today.
Take heaven.
No peace lies in the future
which is not hidden in this present instant.
Take peace.
The gloom of the world is but a shadow.
Behind it, yet within our reach is joy.
Take joy.
And so at this Christmastime,
I greet you with the prayer
that for you, now and forever,
the day breaks
and the shadows stay away.

from a letter written by Fra Giovanni, 16th century monk, to a friend.
A friend sent this in his card on the 22nd, the winter solstice-- with the message:
“Best holiday wishes on this night of the magnificent moon!”

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. McDaniels in person, but we were distant cousins, and she helped me immensely when I was just beginning my family research 20 years ago. I am so sorry for your loss. She was so kind and generous to me, and I am sure to many others.

To Mrs. McDaniels family,
I never had the privilege of meeting her but I ordered copies of her books. I have been continually amazed at the work she did to provide this information for others.
I wish to send my sympathy to all of you. I know she was a very special wife and mother as well as a friend of many.
