Betty Putman

The funeral service for Mrs. Betty Putman will be Sunday, Aug. 7, at 4 p.m. at Elkins East Chapel Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Carriveau and the Rev. David Lash will officiate. Burial will follow in Barkley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.Mrs. Putman, age 59, was employed with Winn Dixie, Cox Creek store, for 10 years and was the manager of the floral department. She was a member of Happy Valley Missionary Baptist Church.She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.Mrs. Putman is survived by her husband of 43 years, Randall Putman, Florence; sons, Benjamin Darrel Putman, Florence, Jeff Putman and wife, Anna, Lexington, Randall Lane Putman and wife, Rebecca, Greenhill, Kenneth Earl Putman and wife, Stacy, Central; daughter, Melissa Michelle Thigpen, Florence; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Davis, Florence, Carolyn Staggs, Florence, Frances Ramey, Elgin; and brother, Charles Jones, Elgin.The family will serve as pallbearers.
