Both my husband and I both graduated from the College of Pharmacy, U of S. Ken continued on to complete the hospital residency program at the current RUH under Betty's professional and gentle guidance. Betty's courage and footsteps led our profession into the era of advanced technology including unit dose dispensing and computerization, and those footsteps will be followed by generations to come. We are honoured to have known this wonderful mentor.

Dear Betty's family,
I had the pleasure of taking two hospital pharmacy courses from Betty in 1990 and 1991 and enjoyed them immensely. I have spent most of my 25 year career in Hospital Pharmacy in Saskatchewan, Ontario and Alberta. Hospital Pharmacists owe a great deal of gratitude to Betty. She was a pioneer and an inspiration.
My condolences,
Wende

I am saddened to learn of Betty's passing. I worked at RUH in pharmacy, first as a receiving assistant and then as a pharmacy technician. I loved Betty from the moment I met her. An amazing woman who always had time to listen, encourage, teach. My deepest condolences to Shirley and Bill and their families.

This is a late entry but I want to say thank you to Betty for a dedicated professional life, especially her example and inspiration to students. Betty was just the second person to become a Fellow of CSHP by examination and helped hone the criteria used today. Condolences to family and friends.

My sincere condolences to Betty's family on her passing. I knew Betty as both a pharmacy student and as a colleague at the University Hospital pharmacy. We shared a little bond in that Betty and my husband came from the same small hamlet in Saskatchewan. Betty was an excellent mentor to the profession and extremely intelligent and caring. She was wonderful to talk to and you came away that much more educated in whatever topic was discussed. May she rest in peace after a job extremely well done.

I was privileged to know Betty first as a professor at the U of S and then a colleague when serving on Council for the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacists and the Board of the Canadian Pharmacists Association. As said in her obituary, she was humble, devoted, honest and more. No one was more dedicated to the profession of pharmacy. Betty had a quiet and classy sense of humour. She was interested in the world around her. Our family knows Betty's influence extends beyond the generations she taught and/or served with, for her advice and guidance led our daughter on a path to service as a hospital pharmacist.

Betty was a very intelligent, loyal and good friend who always listened carefully and her voice was very quiet when she spoke. She had the kindest brown eyes that lit up when she was happy. She had a strong work ethic and her faith in God were always a large part of her life. My condolences to the family of Betty. She was a very good friend and I will miss talking with her.
