Dear Stevens family, We're in Whispering Pines, NC and just have read your nice write-up about Betty. We are very conscious of their both being gone now and not up for lunch in Pinehurst. We will miss them both and all the wonderful memories we have had and all the ties to the Stevens and Iaccaci families and our times in Hebron. Our love and deepest condolences to all of you. What bittersweet news to hear. Aunt Betty was such a joy and had a wonderful zest for life. I was far away from home on a beach when I read your email and was deeply saddened, thinking about how lucky we were to have known such a beautiful soul, when 2 pelicans flew above my head in tandem, rising and falling on the breeze in perfect unison. I just smiled and knew that Betty and Don are together again sharing the incredible love they had for eachother. We send our thoughts and deepest sympathies to you during this very sad time. She was a great lady and will be terribly missed. Love to you all...

We're so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. We'll miss Betty, her grace, her wonderful humor and stories. On one of our fireplace mantels sits Betty's photograph of a moose trotting through Lilac Cottage and Meadow Wind's shared backyards--her proof to us that moose really aren't the elusive, mythical beasts we jokingly claimed ... and they can even leap picket fences in a single bound! Our thoughts and prayers are with you ...
