Betty Turner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 14, 2011.
Betty Jean Turner of Ventura, CA passed away of natural causes on 13 September 2011. She was born in Musselshell, MT on 18 Jan 1928 to Claude and Loraine Cooley. She grew up on a Montana ranch where she learned to enjoy the outdoors and the value of hard work.

Betty married the love of her life, Jim Turner in 1948 while attending college at Washington State University. They were together for over 63 years. They moved to Ventura in 1958 where she periodically worked at Point Mugu Naval Air Station and Naval Ship Missile System Engineering Station, in Port Hueneme. She enjoyed shopping with her daughter, gardening, and going to the movies with friends. Betty will be missed by her daughter, who will remember her most as being a devoted wife and loving mother. Betty is also known for her positive attitude, generosity and cheerfulness.

She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Joyce (Brian) Fenton, her brother Bill Daniel, her aunt Mary Wallace and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial will be held on 9 Oct 2011.

Arrangements by Charles Carroll Funeral Home. (805)642-8134.

Dear Joyce and Brian,

I'm so sorry I couldn't be with you this past weekend. Aunt Betty was one of the sweetest people I knew. I loved her sense of humor, she always laughed, and was always happy. Her and uncle Jim were amazing people and I'm so sad that we did not live closer and get to see each other more often. I will miss her cute Christmas cards. She was so amazing and had the best laugh. I loved her style and she was always so darned cute! She was truely a blessing and I am fortunate to have had both of your parents for an aunt and uncle. Love and hugs to you and Brian! All Our Love, Jeff, Tami, Bradley, and Courtney
