Beulah Higgins Hairell, 93, Florence, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Glenwood Convalescent Center.Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Highland Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bud Mayfield officiating. The body will lie in state 12:30-1 p.m. at the church before the service. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery, Waterloo.A native of Lauderdale County, she was a devoted member of Highland Baptist Church. Her love of the Lord was reflected in the way she loved everyone.Survivors include her children, Edgar Clifton Hairell Jr. and his wife, Mary Lou, of Florence, Ayleen Johnston of Florence, Kathleen Belcher of Greenville, S.C., Gwenda Filchak and her husband, Dennis, of Greenville, S.C.; sister, Lillie Jones of Savannah, Tenn.; grandchildren, Sonny, Terry and Keith Johnston, Kathy Belcher Hambrick, Troy and Chad Filchak, Kris Hairell; great-grandchildren, Israel Guin, Uriah Hambrick, Scott Johnston, Cheryl Billingsley, William and Preston Hairell; great-great-grandchildren, Shane and Christina Guin, Dylan Scott Johnston.Pallbearers will be Terry Johnston, Charles Parker, Sonny Johnston, Scott Johnston, Fay Parker, Kris Hairell, Troy Filchak, Chad Filchak and Lonnie Tidwell.Memorial donations may be made to Highland Baptist Building Fund or Alzheimers Foundation.Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence, is directing.
