Beverly J. (Carman) Barg, 92, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, in her home at Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill, NC. She was born on December 24, 1932, in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Estherville High School in 1950, where she met her husband, Gordon Barg; they were married for 61 years and had two children. She attended Iowa Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and worked as an RN until her first child was born. She lived most of her life in Anderson, Indiana, with her family and loved being a stay-at-home mother. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed baking, cooking, and sewing. She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and traveled around the country to watch their sporting events. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Anderson, Indiana, for over 35 years and served as their treasurer; she transferred her membership to Christ United Methodist Church after moving to North Carolina in 2009 to be closer to family.

Beverly is survived by one son, Robert Barg (Mary Anne) of Dallas, Texas, and by one daughter, Lisa Emrich of Pittsboro, North Carolina. She has six granddaughters and five great-grandchildren: Courtney (Justin, Graham, Henry, Kate) Compton, Kristen (Preston, Miles, Jane) Morrison, Taylor Barg, Sarah Emrich, Lauren Emrich, and Abby Emrich. She is also survived by a sister, Janet Oleson, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Barg, whom she married on April 18, 1954, and her parents, John and Audrey Carman. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 18 2025, at The Fairways in Carolina Meadows, 700 Carolina Meadows, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.
