BEVERLY BASDEN Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 28, 2024.
Beverly Holmquest Basden passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24th, after a brief

illness. Born on June 24, 1935, in Dallas, TX, Beverly was a proud graduate of Adamson

High School and The University of North Texas.

Beverly dedicated much of her career to helping others as a Social Worker for Child

Protective Services, where her compassion and commitment made a lasting impact on

countless lives.

A passionate tennis player, Beverly spent many joyful afternoons on the courts with her

close-knit group of friends, fondly known as the 'tennis ladies,' at the Denton Country Club.

In addition to her love for tennis, she was an avid gardener with a remarkable green thumb.

Beverly is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Laura Basden Gist; her son, Bart

Basden, and his wife, Dawn; her cherished grandsons, Benjamin, Jack, and Sam. She

is also survived by her brother, Don Holmquest, and his wife, Ann.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Basden, sister Norma Sexton and parents

Sidney and Lillie Mae Holmquest.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Salvation Army of Denton

County in Beverly's memory.

At this time, no funeral services are planned.
