Beverly "Bev" Kay Holman

1950 - 2016

Beverly Kay (Bev) Holman of Florence, Oregon passed away on 1/31/2016 from complications of non-hodgkins Lymphoma at the age of 65.

Bev was born on March 1st, 1950 in St. Louis Missouri to Goldia and James Underwood. She graduated high school at Benton High and went on to the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. Soooooepig! (As Bev used to say). In 1970 Bev met Paul Holman when he was stationed at the Little Rock Air Force Base. They married on June 2nd 1973 and she joined him at Hamilton AFB in Ignacio, California just outside of San Francisco. Bev worked at Marin General Hospital until she and Paul moved to Florence, Oregon to begin working with his parents at the Siuslaw News. She fit in wherever they lived. In 1977 her daughter Tracy was born and in 1980 her son Matt was born. Bev loved being a part of the Florence community and enjoyed spending time with her family wherever they were. She enjoyed their cabin at Mercer Lake and enjoyed their trips to the Mountains.

Bev was initiated into PEO International in 1992 and developed a love for the mission and sisterhood of the organization. She loved the friends that she made and the philanthropic work they did to further women's education. Bev thoroughly enjoyed helping her children grow up to be the successful people they are today. Bev, later in life, enjoyed traveling with Paul either on their motorcycle or in their motor home and a visit to their children's home in Seattle, Washington

Bev is survived by her husband Paul, daughter Tracy, son Matt, grandchildren Myla, Bryce, Liam, and many other special friends and extended family members.

A celebration of Life will be held at The Event's Center, Florence OR on February 28th 2016 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the P.E.O. STAR program, c/o Gayle Sisson, 2345 E. 20th St., Florence.
