Been thinking about Bev Lowry lately. She was one of my favorite professors at Liberty and loved being able to hear her voice and sing with her. She is missed.

I just turned on the computer, and started copying down four of the non-fiction books that Beverly Lowry wrote. I then discovered she had died December 2, 2013. I am so sorry. I am going to read all your books!

I am a true testimony to Mrs. Lowry's faith in Jesus. I was led to Jesus by her at LU while visiting the campus one weekend on October 30, 1989. Beverly led me to the Lord in her office that day and my life has been forever changed. I was then able to attend LU as a student from 1990-1992 and I was blessed to have Mrs. Lowry as one of my Psychology professors. She was an awesome woman of God. She was loving, caring, talented, and a true light for Jesus. Thank you Beverly for loving me enough to share the Salvation story with me. I can't wait to see you in Heaven some day. May you rest in peace my dear friend and sister in Christ. May God comfort and heal the entire Lowry family and help preserve the special memories of a wonderful woman of God. Thanks again for all that you did for everyone during your life!

I will always remember Bev, she was kind and loving, and cared about people no matter their short comings and at times sin. I never met Bev F2F but we shared letters and some phone calls. The way of communication really didn't matter, she share God and His love to someone that was undeserving of His or even her's. She even told me once that her son would find God's forgiveness for me in time. Bev I loved you as I did my own mother, walk them golden streets, God Bless you can't wait to see you in heaven.

I play Mrs. Lowry's CD over and over. I especially love the song "Yesterday". It has helped me through many a crisis knowing that God is the same yesterday and today and forever. Her voice was angelic. I thank the Lord for her beautiful voice which has been such an inspiration to me. She was such a beautiful lady!
Thank God for Mark. My sympathy goes out to you and yours.

Bev Lowry was such a kind, gracious lady, a precious Christian artist, and wonderful wife, mom, and grandma. She was very supportive of my music career years ago, a highlight was her appearance on my TV show "Master's Music", Greensboro, NC. I send my heartfelt condolences to Charles, Mike, Mark, and Melissa, and all the family and friends who will always love her.

I'll never forget the day she played "There's a Lighthouse on the Hilltop" for Mark the night he got saved. What a transformation! Both her sons lives eternally changed on the same night at Beulah Land in Nacogdoches, Texas. What a privilege to have witnessed this and her gracious impact on so many people. God continue to hold you all in the palm of His hand as He uses you to be a light in this stormy world.

Hello Mark and Charles,
I am one of the 40 Romanian students, who were admitted at LU in the 90s, and had your mom for Psychology. She was one of my highlights during the LU 90-95 years, always with a smile, always ready to empower somebody and give meaningful advice. One of her tidbits was in regard to the right answer at quizes, and told us (the students) to not bother learning about the false statements, but know what is truthful, and by comparison we'll pick up the false. Same is true with our walk with God, as I've discovered in the past and seems to resonate always, learn what GOD stands for, everything else is just "stuff".
I feel so blessed to have been touched by your mother, a truly genuine person, and know that everybody her and your dad were ever around felt their powerful love and care for each other. What a wonderful example to follow!!!
Be blessed, filled with the Peace that passes all understanding, feel God's love during your time of mourning, and know that your family is very special for the music and wisdom spread around.

With His love, Paula Dimitriu Lair

Dear Lowry family. I got to know Bev Lowry through the vidieo's Mark posted of her before she got sick, while she was in the hospital and then the nursing home. No matter where she was, as Mark said, "She still know's his name". I heard her sing and I could see the love she had for Christ. What a wonderful woman! You are all in my prayer's. Even I will miss her. But like the rest of you, I will see her again someday in heaven. For me it will be our first meeting. What a meeting in the air. God bless you Mark and the rest of your family.

December 11, 2013

Mark you had a wonderful Mother and that is such a blessing. I always loved it when you would go to her in a concert and sing with her. Touched my heart. Can't wait till we all get to meet on the other side. That is going to be wonderful!! Love and Prayers, Betty F. Martin - Shelby NC

Dear Charles, I will be praying for the family during these tough days. I can see from the album that with the generation spill over, their are many family members who will be able to carry on the Godly example of their Matriarch Bev. Bev who is now with her maker, while happy and proudly watching over her flock on earth, is able to add her voice to the grand choir above. May the 'Lowry Echo' reverberate to all her loved ones until you all meet again..Bill and Elizabeth Adamson, Perth, Western Australia.,

Dear Lowry family,
My sister, Angela Davis sent me the video celebrating your precious mother's life. Such wonderful memories of singing with her at Greenwood Village flooded my heart. We had some wonderful and blessed times. We lost our Mom and Dad last year and no matter how long you have them in your life, it is difficult to let go. We know they are happy in the presence of Jesus but we miss them. May God give you strength and the memories give you comfort.

December 6, 2013

It was our privilege to know and minister to Beth during the time she was at Bedford County Nursing home. It was a special joy to hear her sing with Joe Parker. When Joe would begin the song Beth's face would light up and you would hear her rich voice sing as much as her illness would allow. She was attentive during worship adding an "Amen" when the message spoke to her.

Joe and I send our love and best wishes to the family during this sad time. And to Sister Beth: "Well done good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of thy Lord"

Our prayers are with the Lowry family. My husband graduated from Liberty in 1989. Mrs. Bev. was a blessing to me through her singing, and speaking at ladies meetings at Thomas Road Baptist Church during our years in Lynchburg. We later had the privilege of fellowshiping at the same table with Mr. Charles and Mrs. Bev. during one of the alumni banquets. Such sweet Christian people. May the Lord comfort and give you grace during this time.

Our sympathies go out to all of you at what is a sad moment for all who knew her. I don't know how I missed that she was a "Davis." Of course, that explains her considerable talent (lol). It always drew a smile when I would mention that her singing reminded me of Patti Page. Lynn and I love you all and treasure our relationship through the years. God bless you. Duron Davis

December 5, 2013

To The Lowry Family:

Lori and I are so sorry to hear of Bev's passing. God sure is calling a lot of His servants Home as of late.

I will never forget the first time I met Bev. She sang Happy Birthday to me on my 30th birthday and her singing was beautiful. We got to know her while we were working at Liberty and were so thankful that she would pour years of wisdom into two newlyweds. Jesus and steadfast devotion to marriage and family were most plainly evident in her. In an age of compromise she, as Dr. Falwell would say, "Never, ever quit" in her love and service to the Lord. We will miss this wonderful woman and look forward to hearing her someday with the chorus of angels in Heaven.

We are praying for your family during this time and always. Well done, Bev! You are Home.

The best thing to remember now, this is just a transition time for her, moving from this home on earth to her heavenly home. There she is without pain, and she is with her heavenly Father. Though I know her family is grieving the loss of wife, mother, grandmother, it is only a matter of time until you see her again, in a much better place than our beautiful world. God bless you and give you peace. Elizabeth Persons

Mark, my thoughts & heart felt sympathy go out to you & your family. Your mother was such a wonderful spirit. I loved her songs "I Thirst" and "Promises"...I've done them both at church & folks loved them...I'm sure it was more the message than my rendition of them. My favorite story is the one you tell of your mom playing the piano & spotting you up in the balcony of the church ...coming from an Independent Baptist Church I know how those moms can be about things you do at church. God give you comfort in the days to come and live with until you see her again in glorious Heaven with our blessed Savior!

To the Lowry Family.

You had one of the most amazing and Godly women I have ever met. She was a big influence on my life while being a student at Liberty University. She taught me Child Psychology. I took initiative to find her as I was raised on and had a real love for southern gospel. So sorry to hear the news, but we know she is done with troubles and trials of life. Her beauty was in how she loved, shared, and sang praises to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I wrote this on another comment but wanted to share it here with you: Mark, condolences on the loss of your mom. I have no doubt that your momma went running into the embrace of her Lord and Savior - no casual slow walking for her - running to meet Him! I know you miss her but just think how happy she is! Praise God - so thankful that we will have another chance to all be together again.

Bev was a supreme example of a godly woman to her family, friends, fans, and students. I was blessed to know her and to call her my friend and mentor. We ate way too much Mexican together :) but we could never talk too much about The Lord. I love and miss you Bev, but am so grateful to know that you are worshipping at the feet of Jesus. I pray that Holy Spirit will comfort all those who knew and loved her especially her beloved Charles and family. May The Lord raise up 1000 women to carry her mantle of faith and love for Jesus.
