Bill Crockett Obituary

Bill G. Crockett, 77, passed away at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, �ug. 29, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.
He was born in Jamestown, Tenn., April 1, 1935.ÊHis parents were the late Bates and Lucy (Hatfield) Crockett.ÊAlso preceding him in death were his brothers, Clarence and Odell Crockett.
Bill married Phyllis Zeman July 21, 1956, in Steger, Ill. A U.S. Army veteran, he worked on the construction of Cannelton Locks and Dam. Bill also worked at the former Maxon Marine before retiring from Boilermakers Union Local 374.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, in Evanston, St. Meinrad American Legion Post 366 and Southern Indiana Draft Horse and Mule Association.ÊHe was active with the Perry Central School Corporation's FFA program, where he taught welding.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Crockett; a daughter, Stephanie Scheiber (Robert); his son, William Crockett (Kim); sisters Phyllis Jackson, Gene Voyles and Clara Gray; a brother, Harold Crockett and his grandchildren, Alexandra Scheiber, Brianna Crockett, Eric Scheiber and Blake Crockett.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 1, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Evanston, with burial in the church cemetery.ÊPastor Michael Mueller officiated.
Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Perry Central FFA.
