Bill and I were classmates for three years at McDonogh School and rode Bus #5 to and from the campus each day. Besides being fellow band members, we teamed up in physics class during our senior year conducting random experiments using (and sometimes abusing) the lab equipment. Socially, we enjoyed school dances as well as occasional parties at our respective homes. During the spring Bill was the varsity track team's pole vaulter but whenever we were not participating we messed around with an occasional pick-up game of touch football. After a steady bout of dating Linda Renshaw, Bill wasn't too pleased with me when after a respectable time (two weeks after their break up) I asked her out. But soon our dating lives both moved on to savor the abundant attractions and distractions along the sometimes bumpy road to manhood. As was too often the case, we lost touch after graduation from McDonogh and dispersed to pursue careers, marriages, and family life.

I rejoice that Bill is in paradise with Jesus now. He's doing better than all of us. He was one of the most godly men I've ever met. I would like to be more like him, and the world would be a better place if more people were like him. A Hebrews 13:7 man. I met him during his time at Dayspring Chapel. I pray for comfort for all of his children and grandchildren.

My prayers are with your family. My husband Hugh Mottis is at Poet’s Walk. I spent many evenings watching basketball with the “guys” at the center. Bill was always offering to help and willing to share a good story. He will be missed!

Brother Bill, was always a faithful teacher at Providence Theological Seminary. He will be missed by his peers and students. Bill's faithful adherence to the Scriptures was a blessing and so important in this day and age. Bill's scholarship and friendship will be missed by all those who knew Bill. I look forward to seeing him in heaven.

Bill was a kind friend and counselor. Heaven greeted him with glorious music. May God bring great peace to his family as they grieve his loss here on earth, but look forward to seeing him again in heaven.

I remember Bill well at Austin Bible Church while I was finishing up at The University of Texas. He was a great Pastor and I learned a lot from him. I learned so much from his family too. My condolences to the family. Bill, I’ll see you again in heaven!!!

Wells and I extend our thoughts to you and your family at this sad time. We remember Bill beginning church services at ABC in the 70 s with the 1 Peter verse and others. Wells says his teaching convinced him that evolution is a lie.

Bill was an excellent exegete of Scripture in the original Greek and Hebrew texts of the Bible. His teaching at Austin Bible Church was both accurrate and practical. It surely helped many to salvation and on the path to spiritual maturity in knowing the person, character, and plan of Jesus Christ. He was one of early developers of the Foundation for Biblical Research of which I am still Director and actually worked for it for several months. I have NO DOUBT where he is now! Rick
