My condolences to friends and family. Mr. Lucy was always the ultimate gentleman He opened doors so others of us could step through. I hope younger people who did not have the privilege of meeting him, will take the time to learn about him. RIP our Labor Brother. You earned it.

Bill Lucy, you've been a friend since I first met you in 1970. I was in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at FT. MEADE, MD when we met each other. Although I would go overseas and back to the D.C. area we always managed to get together and hang out when I returned to the DMV. It was about six months ago that you and I chatted on the phone and we both were very overjoyed to have our chat together, as we have done many times before. Your friendship has meant so much to me and my family through the years. When you passed away, it was just two weeks away from one year of the passing of my wife last year in October. My condolences and prayers go out to your daughter and other family members. I know it's going to be hard for them without you being there. I pray that God will ease the pain and give them comfort during these stressful times and that they will be able to go with their lives, realizing that you're at peace and that SOME DAY WE WILL ALL BE FREE. I recorded my own version of that song and hopefully I'll be able to give your daughter
a copy of it. RIP BILL LUCY, A friend of the SIMS FAMILY forever.
Yours Truly,
JAMES (JIMMY SIMS)
