To the Malpass family, I was able to meet Mr. Malpass briefly on his most recent trip to Spokane. I enjoyed our brief conversation where I learned about the area he protected while in the fire service. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

We knew William Malpass senior through his son and he was a true blessing and a marvelous man. He reminded us of Sean's dad, they seemed to be one in the same, one of an old kind. So we share Sean's dad's favorite verse, fitting we hope..From Psalms, He was a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. He seemed to excude this every waking moment of his life that we knew, as I am sure all would concurr. On angels wings now and forever more.

I was one of Major Malpass's drivers back in 1994, He would have been about 55. You could not beat him to the rig. If we made a ride at night I would see a flash go by as I was getting my boots on, it would be him, always ready to go. One of the finest men I ever knew. A role model to many.
