My deepest condolences to the Melton Family. I met Bill years ago. When he was able to he attended many charitable events. I remember him comgin to the Chicago Baseball Cancer Charities and Ron Kittle's Indiana Sports Charity. He ALWAYS had time to say hello, talk to you about baseball and/or just to see how you are doing. Bill is becoming the rare breed of professional athletes who would stop and talk to friends & acquaintances & strangers making them feel important and appreciated. RIP Bill. I'm sure Bill Veeck already has plans for you in the Field of Dreams.
