A true gentleman and a man I admired greatly. So sorry, Bonnie and family.

June 1, 2013

I was saddened to read about Bill's passing and wish to send my deepest sympathy to the Dawe family. I played with Bill on the Waterloo Mercury hockey team which won the world championship in 1950. Joan and I went on a Princess cruise with Bill and Lee many years ago. I kept in touch with Bill through the Waterloo functions and was happy to see him when the Waterloo Mercury team was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame two years ago. Unfortunately, with his passing, only two members of the 1950 team remain, Don Gauf and myself. Bill was one great classy guy,who enjoyed life. I would like to attend the Celebration of Bill's life when it is held.

Uncle Bill was one of my FAVORITE uncles. Great memories of him and Lee at the lake when I was a kid; I remember him water skiing when he was close to 60 years old and thought he was amazing! And then there was the time he accidentally dowsed me in gasoline working a hand-held gas pump filling up the boat with gas. We were getting ready to leave for Winnipeg to visit grandma; I rode in the backseat of his car with Lee and him for the three hour trip; ALL the windows down, of course!I smelled like gas for days, and I think every time he caught a whif, he told me how sorry he was. So sweet. It was food for good chuckles over the years and I can see and hear him laughing~ My thoughts are with ALL of you; he was VERY proud of his children and his grandchildren and his eyes twinkled whenever he spoke of any of you. He and Lee were a wonderful couple and balanced each other so well.
I am sending you all love and strength in my prayers during this difficult time...God Bless. ~Deb (See) Malone (My mom was Lee's sister, Phyllis)

Another loss for our family...You lived a full rich life filled with many accomplishments & left yor imprint on all of us.

My mother (Donna) & Uncle (Ken) always spoke of great fondness of their dear sweet Uncle. I was blessed to have met him a few times in my young life & clearly understood why he was so loved. My favorite memory is always hearing my grandfather (John "Milt" Moore)& Uncle Bill with their hearty belly laughs they would share together. Lasting memories of two loving family men!

Bill, Bonnie, & family, thank you for allowing us cousins to have our own special memories with your Dad/grandfather/Great-Grandfather. Your loss is immense & the pain is deep. The strength & grace of your cousins/great cousins surrounds you all, ALWAYS! With much love...

Trina Hardy (nee - Chavarria)
