Billie Joyce Sparlin

Arroyo grande - Billie Joyce Sparlin (3/23/41-8/25/25) passed away at home at the age of 84 after a decades-long battle with breast cancer.

Joyce had two loves in this world, her family and her work, and she fiercely loved both. Joyce was a pioneer for women in the workplace, starting as a secretary and working hard until she eventually became the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Kings County Truck Lines and later Ruan, where she spent a total of 41 years. She often joked that working was her hobby, and she couldn't die yet because her work was not finished. In her later years, Joyce attended Harvest Church, leading two of her family members to the Lord before their passing. Joyce's hard-working attitude was driven by her love for family and the desire to leave a strong legacy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Sparlin; brother, Frank Ake ; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and David Winnett; and nephew, Lance Winnett. She is survived by her children, Brent Sparlin (Tina) and Sloan Elmore (Danny); and grandchildren, Brandon Elmore (Krista), Christina Bustamante (Jason), Brooke Harvey (Drew), and Morgan Benson (Johnathan). She was a wonderful Gigi to her seven great-grandchildren: Tatum, Hope, Eden, Noah, Charlotte, Bastion, and Cindle.

A celebration of life will be held at the First Church of God in Tulare, California on October 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM. All are welcome to join her family in honoring the life of this amazing woman. Lunch will follow the service.
