Billy Barton Eppler

I had the privilege of living next door to the Epplers for nine years, moved last November. A great family and the best neighbors you could ever imagine. Billy became a brother to me.
I recall my first 4th of July there and all subsequent ones!!! It was unbelievable hearing “cannons” explode.
Billy always had the best decorated yard for holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween, great traditions.
One day my husband bought us three male sheep. They were on our pasture. The next morning I was leaving for work and only saw two sheep but wasn’t sure and was running late so I asked Billy (he was working in the garden ofcourse) if he saw all three sheep. He said “yes”. A few minutes later my husband calls me and said one if the sheep was eaten. Billy didn’t have the heart to tell me. After that I insisted the sheep have a pen. Every morning Billy would let them out for me and every evening I would put them up. Billy was always lending a hand and always a smile on his face. I miss him dearly and pray for the family.

Billy and Edward were my best friends in high school. We did some crazy things together. Build a tree house suspended by cables 40 feet in the air. It had a zip line coming off the top of the tree house that would get you up to about 25 miles an hour with a knot at the end of the cable that would send you flying off. Broke a 4 inch limb in half with my nee one time when I landed. of course Edward was the test pilot. He feel from about 30 feet, and broke his leg. I'll never forget those summer's. Some of the best times I ever had in my life. Edward and Billy had a dog named Maynard. A little Boston terrier. He use to run around the front yard pushing a basket ball with his nose. Nobody could catch him. What a dog. I remember one time Edward had made some black powder in his basement, and we went to Hough's army store and bought a dumby granade. well the firing pin just happened to fit a shotgun primer. My dad reloaded shotgun shells. So guess what we did. Next thing you know we had it in the ground and pulled the pin. dirt went everywhere. What a blast. Edward use to have a remote control helicopter. Onetime we went camping at coopers creek. They had army war games there, and we found 30-06 blanks cartridges. Well guess what Edward did. He took a dart from the dart board added a firing pin for a 30-06 cartridge, and use to chase the neighborhood schnauzer around and drop them. terrible teens. different time and place. I wouldn't trade those times for the world. I really loved Billy he was a good man. Brian Chambers

So sorry for your loss. I'm sorry I never met him. He sounds wonderful. My prayers are with you and your family.

I knew Billy for many years and I know he knows the Lord and I know where he's at now. See ya on the other side brother.
