Billy Hudson Obituary
He was born in Lancaster on June 3, 1947, a son of the late J.W. and Mildred Hudson.
Bill served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1968, served in the Air Force Reserve until 1971 and also served in the Army Reserve.
He was an industrial engineer for Yale Norton, where he retired after 25 years. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, avid golfer and Gamecocks fan.
Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Hudson Waites.
He is survived by his loving wife, Millie Hudson; his children, Ray Hudson and his wife, Kim, Sherry Hudson King, Chris V. Horne and his wife, Shelia, David Horne and his wife, Jenny and Wayne Horne; his sister, Peggy Mangum; and eight grandchildren, Whitney Miller, Brandon Horne, Corey Hudson, Gabe Horne, Maggie Horne, Colin Horne, Carsyn Horne and Jessica King.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-11 a.m. March 18, at Faulks Baptist Church, 2234 Faulks Church Road, Marshville, N.C., with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Kidney Fund 11921 Rockville Pike Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.

Millie, I am so sorry to hear of the death of Billy. I worked with him several years at Yale Norton. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of the family.

The strongest branch has fallen from our family tree. God had his way; he's taking Uncle Bill home. For many years God carried him and kept him at his best, for this we're truly blessed. Remember all the good times, the happiness and the love. Think of him when you reminisce as he'll be smiling from above. His mind is at ease, his soul has peace. His body now at rest, for an angel came for him on Wednesday and said God needs the best. The serenity of going home is a miracle we all shall seek. Bill lived and traveled long and hard to reach his journey's final end, So let's just say, "Goodbye for now, Until we're together again."
