It's been over 30 years sinces we left "Gods Country" We knew Billy for only 5 short years while there, but he left us with wonderful memories that will stay with us until we join him.

I loved Bill's stories and jokes and I know I didn't get to hear them all. I was lucky to have known him. He made me laugh every time he came here to our shop. He had a heart as big as Alaska and it showed in everything he did. Alaska is smaller without him. But I know my family tells a story about him every day and will continue to do so as long as there's a Jones left standing. He was a huge part of all our lives. The night he and Nancy came to our house for dinner is among the favorite nights of my life. I miss him a lot, and every time I use a big "four cylinder" word I think of him.

Billy R was one of a kind, his wit was unmatchable. Believe me I tried. He had a great influence on me and my family. He always said we were not related. But I loved him like a grandpa. Every visit was a bright spot and left you wanting to hear more. We miss the old pirate.

Grandpa Bill was an amazing, loving and funny man. I loved all the time I got to spend with him and his wonderful wife Grandma Nancy. He will be greatly missed by myself and my family. We loved him.

Meeting, knowing, and loving Bill was a simple easy thing. All he did to enter our hearts was walk in the front door of our shop. How lucky we were. So many visits filled with his character to keep in our hearts and minds forever. Proud to have been his friend, and to have loved Bill and his family. I always admired the friendship and love you and Bill had in your marriage and family Nancy. He was "ONE OF A KIND".

Mary J. Jones (As Bill always so quickly pointed out...no relation!)

memories of Billy, you and the boys when you built your home. Please call anytime if there is anything that we can do for you.

Dear Nancy,
I am greatly saddened to hear of the passing of Bill. The time that you spent at Miller's Landing over the years meant a lot to all of us who got to know both of you.
Bill is fondly remembered by all of us and is memorialized at "Camp Bill".
Our deepest condolences.
