Billy Gene Parker STIGLER, Okla. -- Funeral services for Billy Gene Parker, 68, were at 1 p.m. Monday in Heaven Bound Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Messer officiating. Burial with military rites by the VFW Post #4446 was in Enterprise Cemetery by King & Shearwood Funeral Home. Mr. Parker died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, in Haskell County Hospital. He was born Feb. 21, 1936, in Hoyt, the son of Eugene D. and Opal Jenkins Parker. He grew up at Hoyt where he attended schools. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was self-employed in the upholstery business until 1975 when he began selling automobiles. He retired from Williams Chevrolet in 2002. He was a member of Heaven Bound Freewill Baptist Church. On Nov. 18, 1957, he married Doralene Higgins in Sayre, Okla. Survivors include his wife; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Valinda Parker of Plainview, Texas, Danny and Vennessa Parker of Beaver Mountain, and David and Misty Parker of Quinton; his father, Eugene Parker of Stigler; two brothers, Hershel Parker of Prague and Euel Parker of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Phyllis Brown of Purcell, Glenda Whitehead of Kinta, Sally Thrasher of Laverne and Wanda Peters of Enterprise; his mother-in-law, Tennessee Virginia Higgins of Quinton; and five grandchildren. His mother, Opal Parker, is deceased.
